Getting Ready for Europe

James and I are headed to Europe in May and we wanted to get in shape just a little before we go so I’ve started biking again and it was brutal.  I just came back from a 30 minute bike ride up and down hills and I can tell how out of shape I am.  The goal is to build muscle and get back into shape not necessarily lose weight – we just want to be able to run around Europe without getting super exhausted.  Of course losing a little weight wouldn’t be bad either.

Here are our rules for the next couple weeks:

  1. No Soda (not a huge deal) No Beer until Europe =(
  2. Sweets (in moderation) OK only if worked out 1 hr or more that day
  3. Do something active once per day for at least 30 min
  4. Longer workouts at least twice a week (1 hr)
  5. Eat healthier

Not too difficult… so we should be able to do that …

Note its not “No Alcohol until Europe” just not high calorie or sugary drinks – guess we’ll be having mojitos (~70 calories a glass)
